Kingdom Hearts fan, I had to try at all costs this episode on GBA. The atmosphere Disney / Square there is the simple scenario like the road, new villains make their appearances ... excellent ingredients to make a game memorable. However, putting down the console, my feelings are mixed. Explanations:
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories follows Kingdom Hearts, and takes place chronologically before Kingdom Hearts II. But this is not a full episode of the series, but rather an episode schedule that will allow you to better understand and assess the future Kingdom Hearts II.
For all actually based on one element: the memory of Sora!
So needless to say that there is little innovation in scenario: You walk into a house where each floor is a world visited by Sora and his friends in the first opus.Mais gradually, some something wrong: Sora and his friends lose their memories, their memories (hence the title;)) to forget Kairi!
The scenario is simple enough, but the history of amnesia can not have quite the same story (thankfully, otherwise what would interest). And the arrival of new characters, new villains to be exact, significantly raise the interest of the game (we have the right to a sort of preview before they arrive on PS2).
Regarding the environment, do not worry, found it perfectly the first Kingdom Hearts: The elements of the decor of each world are fully transcribed, the characters Disney and Square-Enix are true to themselves. And the transition from 3D to 2D is so smooth graphics are successful. Square-Enix goes even further by proposing certain sequences of 3D video of a very, very good quality.
Now to the game system: everything is based on maps! There must be cards to open doors to advance in the game requires cards to be able to fight, we need maps to heal, we need maps for traveling in the worlds. As long as you play this game, you do not stop dreaming (nightmares?) Card!
While the game takes place in Castle Oblivion, where each floor is transformed into a world from the memory of Sora. To progress, you must obtain maps of some value to each open doors that make up the world. Each door has a different and requires some type of special cards to be opened. Also according to the type of cards used the Heartless encountered in the next room will be different: stronger, weaker, more ....
Each world is composed of ten to twenty pieces, it is not necessary to visit all parts, but it is highly recommended if one wants to have a fairly high level and not be compelled to later the level-up repeatedly.
Regarding the battle system, Square-Enix managed to perfect a mix between combat turn-based and action-RPG: you must get in touch with a no-heart to start a fight and after a screen transition that resembles most of those classic RPG, you come to a battle screen where Sora is now only deal with Toll-hearts. For Donald and Goofy (and other Disney characters like Aladdin, The Beast, etc..) Appear only after having collected their cards. Moreover, the cards are also the key element of combat.
You have a pack of cards (which you can develop, modify through CP obtained at the end of combat) you must use to fight the Heartless have their own cards ... after fighting, it happens like an animal Battle Card: You have the highest card once you reach the Toll-heart, your card is the lowest it's you who are taking shots. A few differences that's how fights happen, they may therefore seem repetitive after a while. Especially towards the end of the game when no-heart have more HP away, having understood the tactical battles become longer but not really dangerous.
You can use different types of cards: Keyblade cards (to attack), card magic (fire, ice, lightning), maps of invocations (Simba, Cloud, ...), maps of care maps without -hearts that improve the skills of Sora.
Note the existence of Rebirth mode that lets you play with Riku and learn more about the members of the organization, future enemies from Kingdom Hearts II.
To conclude, if I had to write a note to KH CoM ... 15/20 would note could drop to 12/20 if it had not been a game Kingdom Hearts. The graphics are nice and the atmosphere Kingdom Hearts is here but the script drags too long at times (I sometimes feel that they wanted to put all the worlds of the first film left to forget the main plot). If the game does not serve as a transition between Episode I and II, the combat system and game would be too tedious for me to finish this whole soft.
